A twelve-episode global documentary series hosted by Tim Challies and Tim Keesee

On one day—the first day of each week—Christians across the globe gather to worship Jesus, their risen Lord. Together, as a worldwide community of worshippers, they obey God’s command that, “From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised” (Psalm 113:3).

The diversity and unity of the Church in its worship is a stunning demonstration that the Gospel of the one and only Savior crosses every kind of barrier! Worship Round the World will take viewers on a globe-circling journey that tracks with the sun. Viewers will join believers as they rise to worship in house churches, open-air buildings, and ancient edifices that stretch from the South Pacific to North Africa, from the Sahara to South America.

It’s a taste of Revelation 5:9 as we, along with our brothers and sisters worldwide, worship the One who by His blood has “ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”

Project Overview

Tim+and+Tim.Toronto.jpg

Worship Round the World is a documentary film series that will follow veteran world travelers Tim Challies and Tim Keesee as they travel the globe and join this international chorus of worship. Twelve 30-minute episodes will explore expressions of Christian worship spanning the continents. In each case, they will join with churches whose worship is consistent with Scripture but whose practice of that worship is faithful to the local language, customs, and culture. In this way each worship service will be unique yet distinctly biblical.

The episodes will “follow the sun” through a day of worship, beginning in Fiji and ending in the Aleutian Islands. Along the way they plan to worship in the remote jungles of Cambodia, the bustling metropolises of Korea and Australia, the plains of Zambia, the Andean heights of Chile, and many other places. The final episode will re-cross the entire world and give voice to all these expressions of worship in one inspiring presentation. All of the episodes will be a great resource for churches and Christians of all ages.

Project Budget

Because of increased costs in international travel and production since we set the original budget four years ago, we recently had to increase the amount of funds needed to complete this project. The total anticipated budget is now $375,000.

The expenses for the project will be covered through donations. Funds can be given through Frontline Missions International, a non-profit mission organization supporting biblical ministries in restricted-access countries. Contributions to this ministry are tax-deductible.

This is a two-year long project with multiple trips spanning the globe. It’s the biggest, most audacious film project we’ve ever undertaken. But that’s as it should be because this is the big, audacious story of Jesus’ saving work in the world as He brings worshippers together from “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9)!

Would you help us tell this story? If you want to have a part in this project, please consider giving a gift of any size for the Worship Round the World project.
